El Modena High School to Host
A Night of Career Exploration

Orange, CA – February 26, 2015 – Orange Unified School District (OUSD) is partnering with the non-profit group Vital Link to provide students with the opportunity to experience various occupations first-hand at A Night of Career Exploration. The career fair for middle and high school students will take place Wednesday, March 11, from 5:30-8:00PM in the El Modena High School Gymnasium.

Attendees will have the chance to meet industry professionals and find out how they got started on their career paths. Information about the various educational training options available to them in high school, such as Career Technical Education (CTE) and Regional Occupational Programs (ROP) will be provided, as well as information about specific certificate and degree programs offered at local community colleges. Hands-on exhibits including robotics and engineering, health care, innovative technology, advanced manufacturing, public safety, environmental design, digital design and many others will be on display.

“Allowing students to explore career options early-on helps to give students direction,” said Kathleen Boyd, OUSD CTE/ROP/K-12 STEM Coordinator. “Having a clear pathway to follow makes it easier for students to successfully transition to a meaningful career after they graduate.”
