COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteers are always needed and very welcome.  High School students can obtain community service hours.
Volunteers are needed for:  pruning, weeding, raking, improvements, cleaning the interpretive center, etc.

An advisory committee is being formed to provide future ideas for development and use.

SCOUT OPPORTUNIES

Eagle Scout Projects have included building bridges, benches, display cabinet, display board and many more.

Possible future projects are:
Building retaining walls and planting the area
Building additional display boards
Building pergolas and arbors
Refurbishing the walkways with edging and DG

Girl Scout Gold Award Projects have included planting an area with plants used by California Indians, writing lessons around the plants for 3rd graders and installing plant signs.

Possible future projects are:
Increasing the displays of California Indian daily life
Plant new areas and install plant signs
Promote and advertise a day at the nature center for Orange kids including putting together the materials for all the activities, people to help with the activities, etc.
