Welcome to Panorama!

“What sculpture is to a block of marble,
education is to the human soul.”
— Joseph Addison (1672-1719), Essayist & Poet

Panorama’s own Sierra delivered fun supplies to CHOC Children’s Hospital including puzzles, games, coloring books, and many more things as part of her own Hope Program. Sierra organized the Hope Program where students, staff, and family members donated these great girts to help kids have a more enjoyable stay while at CHOC.

Way to go, Sierra! You are an inspiration to us all!

Principal's Message

Dear Panorama Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!  My name is Jeremy Mortensen.  I am honored and privileged to mark this as my first year as principal of Panorama Elementary School and to be given the good fortune to be a part of such a positive culture and community.  Panorama has always had an incredible reputation for academic success, filled with enthusiastic students willing to learn, supportive parents/guardians interested in their children's education, and a dedicated, professional staff committed to providing our students with a quality education.  I look forward to working with all of you to keep up such an amazing reputation!

At Panorama, we have many volunteer opportunities for our families to get involved.  This includes anything from joining our PTA and/or School Site Council to working in your child’s classroom as a volunteer or as a room parent!
I would like to encourage each parent/guardian to stay active in your child's education.  I certainly realize that many of you lead busy lives, and it is often difficult to volunteer at school.  However, any time you have to dedicate to our school and programs would be greatly appreciated by our staff, and ultimately, by our students.  Another way you could help is at home.  By taking just a few minutes in the evening to read to your child, talk with your child about school, or simply see that your child is organized for the next school day, it will have great benefits.  When the family is involved in their children’s school, children benefit, schools benefit, and families benefit.

This year marks our third full year of implementation of the Common Core State Standards.  This year, we will again have data from our SBAC testing to analyze and guide our instruction so that we stay at the forefront of 21st Century learning with rigor and an emphasis on “The Four C’s” – Collaboration, Communication,Creativity, and Critical Thinking skills.  With our students learning these very important learning principalstrategies, they will be life-long learners, eager to be college or career ready as they move forward in their educational careers.

On behalf of the Panorama faculty, staff, and myself, we would like to welcome you to another successful and fun year here at Panorama Elementary.  Let’s make this the best year ever for our kids!  It takes us all!

Sincerely,

Jeremy Mortensen
Principal, Panorama Elementary School
