Three OUSD Schools Named 2016 Honor Roll Schools by California Business for Education Excellence

Orange, CA – May 2, 2017 –  Orange Unified is proud to announce that Cerro Villa Middle School and El Modena High School have been recognized by Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE) as Honor Roll schools for the 2016 California Honor Roll. El Rancho Charter Middle School was also named by CBEE as a Scholar Honor Roll School, a California high performing school without significant levels of low-income students.

After an extensive analysis of student data for every public school in California, Cerro Villa, El Rancho, and El Modena were clear leaders in getting students to grade level and beyond. Each school will receive recognition in the press as a leader in student achievement and educational excellence. They will be featured on the CBEE website, where educators and policy makers seek out high performing schools with hopes to replicate their success.

The 2016 Honor Roll recognizes public elementary, middle, and high schools that demonstrate consistently high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and reduction in achievement gaps. For high schools, Honor Roll recognition includes measures of college readiness in students. This year, the California Honor Roll recognized 1,866 higher performing, higher poverty schools that are distinguished for their academic achievement and closing achievement gaps.
